**All of our dogs are individuals and we treat them as such, so the following process will vary for each dog.**
The first step is to complete one of our application form so that we know a little bit about your lifestyle, and we like to meet the whole family. We do this so we can find the right match for both you and your new dog. Once we receive your application admin will call you for a short interview, this could take around 20-30minutes so please tell us when best to call back. Also please be aware that it could take a few days for this to happen as we are a small team. *All current dogs must be neutered (Unless vet proof can be given)*
Dog available for adoption can be viewed on our website you will need to click on the breed you are looking for and on our Facebook page. You will be able to see photos and a brief bio about each dog and what sort of home they are looking for. You can specify on your application if you are interested in a particular dog or you can email if you have already completed a form.
Once we have had our interview call, we will then process with a home check, this can again take a few days to find a volunteer in your area to come and visit. Your home check will take around 1 hour and you will be asked to show proof of who you are with either a driving licence or passport, you will also be asked to show proof of ownership of house or if you rent home-checker will need to see that you are allowed dogs in the home, please make sure you have all of this to hand. The home-checker will go through a question sheet with you and if you are looking to adopt you will need to read and sign a pre-adoption contract. Photos of your garden will be needed also so please arrange a time for home-checker to come when it light.
When we have received the paperwork back from home-checker we will then email you a proof sheet of the pre-adoption contract of which you signed and call you again to make sure you 100% understand everything. If you pass your home check you will be told straight away however if you fail we will either call or email you to explain why, if its something that can be fixed e.g. fencing we will give you time to arrange for this to be sorted.
Once passed we will then arrange for you and your family to go and meet the dog you are currently interested in, PLEASE make sure you are able to travel as all our dogs are based all over the U.K. If you have current dogs we do like the dogs to go with you for the initial meet. If your meet goes well from start to finish with no problems at all and everyone is happy we are happy for you to take the dog home with you. HOWEVER the adoption fee which differs for all dogs will need to paid before dogs are taken, a contract will either be signed with the fosterer, or a contract will be sent via post or email. THIS must be sent back within 1 week, we will then send you a copy of your contract, dogs vaccination card, and all information we have on the dog you are adopting.
All dogs are neutered (pending age), vaccinated, chipped which is changed to new owners, flea, wormed. When you have adopted your dog you must understand that Bullies in need will be in contact with you and we like to have updates on our dogs for their entire life. We will call you for a chat around 6-7months of adoption. You are more than welcome to be apart of our Bullies in Need UK facebook page at anytime which you can upload your updates on the dog(s).
The adoption fee is £150 to be paid before collection of the dog, when the contract is signed and exchanged.
