Bunni
Age: Approx 18 months
Sex: Female
Breed: BT Cross
Area: Edinburgh
Summary: A very affectionate girlie who craves attention, aprox 18mths. Walks well but loves a run around off the lead, is vocal around other dogs but has shown no aggression. Dislikes squirrels, has shown little or no interest in cats. Happy, healthy girl with good appetite.
Introducing her to our other foster Bullie was very easy, they had become firm friends within a minute! Bunni has a motherly attitude towards out foster boy who is younger than her & is very protective of him. Bunni should be happy either as an only dog or joining a family who already have a dog. Bunni is an alert girl who is eager to please, she will sit & give a paw if she thinks there may be a reward.
Bunni has been a pleasure to foster, she will make her new family very happy. We will miss her!!
If you think Bunni is for you then please fill in a questionnaire

Nancy
Age: 2 years
Sex: Female
Breed: Staffy Cross
Area: Greater Manchester
Summary: Nancy, a staffie cross, who came into branch care via one of our Inspectors. She is 2 years old and has spent quite a long time in kennels. She will need house training as she was an outside dog in her previous home.
Nancy is a very good natured girlie who loves people and gets on well with other dogs when off her lead but does need care when attached to her walker by that bit of leather. She will not be rehomed to families with children under 10 as she is quite giddy and does tend to play bite if she is allowed to get too excited. So we are looking for a calm Bull Terrier experienced family.
Nancy is just looking for the chance of a happy life where her new family will love and care for her after all she's been through in the past.
Any area of the country considered, although you must be prepared to meet her at least once before taking her home. We can arrange pre- and post- adoption home visits to be made by her prospective adopters' local branch of the RSPCA.
If you could offer Nancy a caring new home and would like to find out more about her telephone 07050 264 531 (answer phone), leaving a message with your contact details for Joyce or or send her an email but please remember to include a contact telephone number.
Please mention you saw Nancy on the Bullies In Need Website.

Derek needs to be the only dog in an all adult household and will need to live out of London, away from busy parks.
He is a great dog and loves being around people and can be very affectionate.
He has been in a foster home and enjoyed all the attention.

Eddie
Age: Around 1-2 years
Sex: Male
Breed: Bull Terrier Cross American Bulldog
Size: Standard
Colour: White
Reason for rescue: We took a call of someone who wanted to disclaim their dog-we had a waiting list so took there details but then Eddie came into us as a stray the next day. He has been looking for a home since 13/10/08.
Neutered: No
Vaccinated: No
Medical history: Has been kept up to date with flea and worm treatment but is believed to be in good health.
Behavioural history: Very nervous but friendly and loving when he gets to know you.
Likes: Going on walks, chewing up toys and eats treats.
Dislikes: Some dogs
Area: We prefer our dogs rehomed in the Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire.(Please still get in touch if you are out these areas.)
Summary: Eddie isn't showing himself off well in the kennels-barking at people passing by is putting people off. He needs an experienced owner that will be firm and train him on the lead. May be better suited with older children as he can be nervous at times of load noises. He's a stunning looking boy.

Mia And Deuce
Age: 5 and 4
Breed: Bull Terrier Cross And crossbreed
Neutered: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
Area: Norfolk
Summary: This is Mia...she is a 5 year old BT x Staffie. She was rehomed by the RSPCA to a family with young children a few years ago now but sadly the man became ill and the family fell on hard times. Unfortunately things must have become desperate and they have had to let their dogs go, they are all heartbroken. Mia is vaccinated and spayed. She lives with another dog, called Deuce who is 4, and who is her best friend). They are both good with children and lived with a cat. As you can imagine they are shocked and bewildered to find themselves in kennels and the prospect of splitting them up is very upsetting for all concerned.
They both look so worried, it's heartbreaking. The staff are very caring at the kennels but it's not Mia or Deuce's home and they must wonder what is going on.
If you think you can offer a home to both, or either, of these dogs please contact Penny Skate at RSPCA West Norfolk on 01485 541141.

Keira
Age: 4
Sex: Female
Breed: Bull Terrier Cross
Size: Standard
Colour: Black & Tan
Reason for rescue: Brought into Rescue
Neutered: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
Medical history: Not Known
Likes: Love and attention, walks and a nice meal
Dislikes: None known
Area: Humberside
Summary: Keira is currently resident at Hull Animal Welfare Trust in South Cave. A man brought Keira to the centre at 1500 hours 21st July. She was obviously heavily pregnant. This man had split with his girlfriend and was on his way up north and had nowhere to leave Keira. We had no alternative but to take her in and thank goodness we did at 1600 hours she had her first pup. There are six in total but for medical reasons Keira and her pups have had to be separated. She is a very friendly dog if rather bewildered at all the changes in her life. She will be neutered as soon as it is possible so no more pups for her.
HAWT re-homing policy means that Keira MUST stay within the East Riding of Yorkshire district so with our help we are hoping to find Keira the perfect fireside home to live out the rest of her years. She just wants a home to call her own and she has so much to offer the right owner.

Buster
Age: 5 months
Sex: Male
Breed: Bull Terrier Cross
Size: Standard
Neutered: No
Vaccinated: Yes
Area: Alloa
Summary: Buster is 5 months old and will need a firm hand to bring him on to be the perfect dog. He is so eager to please but loves pushing boundaries when given half a chance. He doesn't seem to have had much socialisation but in foster he has been living with other dogs, albeit OTT with them, he is settling down gradually and learning the warning signs when he gets too much.
He loves lying on his back holding his toys in between his front paws and trying to catch them in his mouth and will amuse himself for ages doing this! He lived with cats before but HATED them so cats are a definite no no. He did hump for the 1st couple of days but was down to excitement at being in such close proximity with other dogs I think. He doesn't do it much anymore but will need neutered asap.
He walks well on the lead when with my dogs but tends to not want to move when on his own so some work would need to be done with this if being homed as an only dog. He has a harness but pulls like a train on it so half check is much more effective I have found. Every walk we have been on his recall has been fantastic in a massive enclosed field.
He gets overexcited with children so Buster can only go with children aged 10 and above because he's a big boy and still has growing to do and would prob knock younger kids over.
He has his own bed, covers, bowls, collars, leads, long line, harnesses and plenty of toys!

Missy
Age: 4 years
Sex: Female
Breed: Bull Terrier Cross
Colour: Sable and White
Reason for rescue: Missy was adopted from a rescue centre in Cumbria in October last year. Unfortunately Missy's new owner is moving house and the landlord will not allow pets.
Neutered: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
Medical history: Missy is fully vaccinated including kennel cough. Wormed and flea treatments up to date. Microchipped. She has an ongoing sensitive skin and will probably have flare-ups. Mostly confined to her feet. Our vet thinks it an allergic reaction but we are unsure as to what this relates to. We treat her with a weekly medicated bath.
Area: Dumfries. Scotland
Summary: Missy came to Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre at the beginning of February 2008. Her bringer-in had had her for just 4 months when she said she was moving home into un-pet-friendly accommodation. She was from a rescue centre in northern England. They didn't want her back. She is lovely with people. Affectionate and amusing. She travels well and is fine on the lead after the initial excited pulling. We have not mixed Missy with any dogs here at the centre. She is dreadful with other dogs through the bars of a kennel or a run. We were told she was fine with dogs, but not with bitches, but we remain unconvinced. Missy is looking for someone to bond with, who has a secure garden that she can't see out of and walks where she won't be coming into contact with too many other dogs. We know this is a lot to ask, and this is why she's been with us as long as she has, but she is a sweetheart when she wants to be!

Tia And Bobby
Age: Both approx. 12-18 months old. Could possibly come from the same litter as they were handed in to rescue together from the same owner.
Sex: Male
Breed: BTX
Size: Standard
Colour: Tia is a red and white female, Bobby is black and white male.
Reason for rescue: Both relinquished into a local animal rescue by their owner who had become homeless.
Neutered: No
Vaccinated: No
Medical history: Both seem very healthy young dogs if a little underweight, I checked their eyes, teeth, ears and feet and they were all fine, their coats and skin are in good condition.
Behavioural history: Tia and Bobby lived together and get on great together. They seem to respond OK to the other dogs in the kennels, they will bark back at other dogs they pass in the kennels if they bark at them but don't generally start the barking off. Did not encounter any other dogs on the walk I took them on, but rescue staff said they have seemed fine walking past other dogs they meet on walks. Have not exhibited any problem behaviours in the kennels.
Area: Walsall
Summary: Tia and Bobby are lovely young dogs who deserve the chance to be part of a happy family. Living in a kennels is obviously not ideal for such young, healthy dogs as they need so much more attention and love than they can be given there. They can be a little wary of people on initial contact but as soon as they realise you are friendly, they love to be stroked and fussed. They love to roll on their back and have their tummies tickled. Both take treats gently from your hand and attempt to sit after a few goes. They would definitely benefit from some training as they have probably had none, and I feel they would be intelligent and quick to learn.
Both pulled a little on their leads at first, but as they currently only get one walk a week in the kennels that was hardly surprising. Considering this, the pulling was not excessive at all. On the way back from the walk they were both calmer on their leads.
Have not been cat tested so best not to go to a home with any cats or small furries as their reaction is unknown.
Unknown if they have had any contact with children, but both seem friendly enough to go with sensible dog experienced older children, 13 plus.

Benny
Age: 1 year
Sex: Male
Breed: Bull Terrier Cross
Size: Standard
Colour: White with head markings
Reason for rescue: He was a stray in Ireland
Neutered: Yes
Vaccinated: Yes
Medical history: Benny was very thin when he came to us but is gradually putting on weight
Behavioural history: He is house trained and is not destructive
Likes: He loves cuddles and really likes to play
Dislikes: Male dogs, loud noises and being left alone for long periods
Area: midlands
Summary: he knows all his basic commands and is house trained. He is a fun loving active boy who just wants to please. he does have a toy and bone obsession and for this reason I feel he needs to be with children over 13yrs. Although he gets on ok with my resident dogs he isnt over friendly with male dogs although this is being worked on.
Benny is a gorgeous boy who is full of affection and loves his cuddles. Whoever rehomes Benny will need to give him plenty of exercise as he is a very active boy. he loves to hang off trees when out walking and will happily carry home a very large branch.
Benny needs a home as he is desperately unhappy being in his kennel as he craves human attention and companionship.
Benny doesnt bark loudly as he has damaged vocal cords so makes a quite whine instead. He is a well behaved well adjusted boy who is absolutely stunning to look at as well as to be with
If you think Benny is for you then please fill in a questionnaire

Mica
Sex: Male
Breed: Bull Terrier Cross
Size: Standard
Colour: White and brown
Area:
Summary: She is a cross, but very EBT looking. She came to us from Newport pound where she was surrended. She had been used for breeding and kept in a shed all her life, despite being deaf.
She is dog friendly, but is wary and may snap if dogs approach her from behind and she doesn't know they are there. Her best mate in kennels was Billie the American Bulldog - he could rag on her, and would then sit on her so she couldn't rag him back!
She has spent 2 weeks in foster when one of my friends was on leave, she enjoyed off lead runs then and her recall was good (with hand signals). She also played with other off lead dogs nicely.
Her main issue is the bull terrier habit of grabbing the lead. As you can't use voice commands we are currently using a water pistol which does work, she only needs to be squirted once and remembers her manners. Not a training method we would usually use but with her deafness it is the only thing that works!
She is fully vaccinated, spayed, wormed and flead. I am desperate to get her out of kennels and into a foster home/home but no-one is interested. Our kennels are not rehoming kennels, but private boarding really for emergency use so she doesn't get seen by the public either.

Tigger
Summary: Tigger is around 18 months old and was just 6 months old when he was handed in to Meadow Green, also now having spent over a whole year in kennels. He has virtually grown up in kennels and, soon, living in a proper home will just be a distant memory for this poor lad. Tigger was quite bouncy when he arrived at the kennels, hence his name, but over the months, with a lot of training and the correct handling, has become much calmer and a pleasure to be around. He is not coping as well in kennels as Amanda and the kennel owners are absolutely desperate to find Tiggs a new home where his full potential can be achieved and he can live life to the full. He is fit and healthy, vaccinated and would do best as the only dog in the home. Tiggs enjoys his walks and will make a smashing little dog for anyone - he just needs that chance to shine, can you offer just that to this sad little boy??

Ice
Summary: Loves her fuss and cuddles, very excitable. She is deaf, but I think she's had some basic training at some point because she'll sit to a hand signal and watch to see what you want her to do next.
Loves to shake paws and have tummy scratches.
No problems with food. You can put your hand in her food bowl, she took a piece of food very gently from my hand and gave me big Bully face slurps as a thank you.
She's fit and healthy, let me look at her ears and teeth no problem.
She's excitable with other dogs, was very interested in going to see them. But, she had a full minute or so nose to nose through the mesh with one of them, no hackles, no signs of aggression whatsoever, her tail didn't stop wagging at all and she gave the dog a nice lick on the nose to say goodbye :)
She's a typical little EBT clown.

Ruby
Age: 1 Year
Sex: Female
Breed: Bull Terrier Cross
Size: Standard
Reason for rescue: Rescued by RSPCA
Neutered: Due to be spayed on Friday 9th February 2007
Vaccinated: Yes
Summary: She is a gorgeous young girl in desperate need of an understanding loving home. Ruby is a very excitable, active girl who loves playing, going for walks and any attention! She is just over a year old and has not had a good start to life. She was kept on a balcony by her previous owner and was taken away by an RSPCA Inspector after reports of her being beaten. Despite Ruby's traumas, she is a very friendly, loving girl. Unfortunately we do not know if she is house-trained or if she is used to being left. She may not be used to living in a house so will need a patient understanding new owner to work on any house-training issues and get her used to sounds and objects in a home.
Ruby is an energetic, intelligent dog who is quick to learn. She would definitely benefit from training classes for general obedience and to get her used to other dogs. When assesed at our centre with other dogs, she was a little dominant but friendly, however, she will need further socialisation because she has not had much interaction with them and does not really know how to act towards them.
Ruby is unable to be rehomed with cats and small animals as she gets very over excited when she sees them and we feel she may get fixated and not leave them alone in a new home. Because of the reason she came into the centre, and because of her boisterous nature, we recommend that Ruby go to a home with children 16 years+, who will understand and respect her.
Ruby does not suffer from travel sickness.
Overall Ruby is a gorgeous, lively girl who is looking for a loving new home where she can get all the fuss and attention she craves and deserves. She requires an experienced owner.
If you need to contact us for any reason, our centre contact number is 0870 01 01 841.
I have spent a lot of time with Ruby myself, so if I can help in any way, please feel free to contact me on my mobile: 077233 43 711.
If you think Ruby is for you then please fill in a questionnaire
Kyle
Re-homed
Age: 2-3 years
Sex: Male
Breed: BT X Staffie/AB (he is a big boy)
Size: Standard
Reason for rescue: Abandoned and found tied to a tree in a park, was picked up by Dog Warden
Neutered: Yes
Vaccinated: No
Medical history:
Behavioural history: Kyle spent the first week in Kennels as a Stray. He is now in Private Kennels and the staff has said he is very friendly to humans, but not any good with other dogs. Kyle sleeps in a bed and keeps his kennel clean, this means he is housetrained and he doesnt make a sound while in kennels. Kyle being fed Chappie and he loves this food.He is very strong on a lead pulls at first, then settles down into a nice walker.
Likes: Human contact, cuddles, walks and toys and food
Dislikes: Dogs (Kyle must be homed as an ONLY DOG) and he does not like small furries or cats.
Area: East Coast of Scotland
Summary: When we met Kyle and did his Assessment we found him to be a very friendly, big boy. He will need someone with Bull Terrier Experience to handle and guide this boy to bring out his full potential. He needs a firm hand as he has lacked in being Socialised in the past. We took our Female Bullie along with us and took them for a walk together to see how he was behaving away from the kennels, he was full on at first and calmed down throughout the walk, but he had lunge at our bullie, but when I shouted to correct his behaviour he was more than willing to do as he was told in order to please me. He was not Agressive but he just did not know how to behave around another dog due to not being socialised in the past. He was very good at being told to Sit, No, Leave etc etc. Kyle is a beautiful big boy with gorgeous soft fur and he is in excellent body condition, someone has looked after this boy in the past, all he is looking for is for someone to love him now, he adores all Humans. He is not mouthy at all, he didnt even want a treat from me, he let me examine him for Head to Toe then lay on his back for belly rubs which he loved. Anyone who is interested in Kyle will not be disappointed with him, but he is a Big Strong Boy.........Any children must be aged over 13 due to Kyles size and overall strength.
