For some time people connected to a local rescue had been trying to persuade him to give up the dog but he wouldn't.
Eventually they managed to wear him down and he agreed to let the rescue take him, the problem now was that they didn't have anywhere for him to go, but knew they couldn't let the opportunity pass. This is where good rescues help one another for the sake of the dog and they got in touch with us to ask if we could help. All our usual kennels were full and as we were unable to have access to do any sort of assessment and had no way of knowing what this dog was like. We knew he had been kept in a flat and never taken out and we had no doubts that he would have been abused as well as neglected.
As luck would have it another kennels in Stoke had the day previously offered us the use of some of their kennels at a reduced rate and we had decided that we would use them for emergency use only, mainly because it is difficult to raise enough money for the amount of kennels we already use and we really can't commit to more money going out on a regular basis.
At least this would provide a short term solution for this boy.
Volunteers took him to Stoke where he was taken in by Julie and Mick for a while before they took him on to the kennels. This is their first impressions of him; He arrived this evening. We have called him Jack. Terrified and skinny. He has beautiful blue eyes and is afraid to look at anyone. He just cowers. He has been beaten badly I would say. He wouldn't eat in front of us but when we left the room he ate all the food. He had a poo and when Mick picked it up he cowered flat to the floor and Mick just stroked him and told him it was ok. He went to the kennels in the car and was fascinated by the outside world. Settled into a large heated kennel and snuggled in a large fleecy blanket like he had never seen such comforts. He walked past all the other dogs and totally ignored them. Surprisingly he walks well on a lead and doesn't pull.

Jack will get every care we can give him, once he has settled sufficiently he will have a vet check and will eventually be neutered. Meanwhile Julie and Micky will visit regularly and get him used to the enjoyable side of life. We are hopeful that he can be fully rehabilitated and enjoy a normal life.
We would like to say thank you to everyone involved in the rescue of Jack, it just shows what can be done when people work together for the good of the dog.
If you can help with the cost of Jacks care please Paypal to bin@bull-terriers.co.uk any help would be appreciated.
We will put occasional updates onhere

Pokerstars UK

http://www.bulliesinneed.info/1/post/2011/12/pokerstars-uk.html

http://www.bulliesinneed.info/1/post/2011/12/pokerstars-uk.html#comments

Uncategorized

_Pokerstars UK have kindly given us some free merchandise to raffle or auction off to raise some much needed funds for our rescueKeep a watch on our Facebook group for more info after Christmas.Huge thanks to Pokerstars UK for think [...]

_Pokerstars UK have kindly given us some free merchandise to raffle or auction off to raise some much needed funds for our rescue
Keep a watch on our Facebook group for more info after Christmas.
Huge thanks to Pokerstars UK for thinking of us
